I was introduced to Gregory Miles Hoffman at a live show at "New York Pizza" (I put it in quotes because it's so absurd, the venue is absurd, they don't even have a PA, but they're the main venue in town somehow) shortly after I moved to Greensboro. The show was Joy On Fire, the Difficulties, and some out of towner. He's a composer. People throw that term around a lot but he's the real deal, writes notes on paper and gets trained musicians to play those notes. Also plays any instrument you can hand to him. I had just committed two new songs (based on the quatrains of Guan Yin) to "tape" haha, and asked him to come over and add some viola. Viola!
